The Kiosk Scanner was an initiative developed to provide assistance to the Technology Services Department help desk at Chadstone campus.
During peak student hours, students with account and login issues would queue for assistance at the help desk, resulting in long lines and frustrating wait times.
50% of student issues at the help desk were in regards to account holds and login issues.
The Kiosk Scanner allowed students to scan their student card without waiting in the help desk queue to see what errors were on their account.
They were then provided with step by step information of how to rectify their issue.
The Kiosk Scanner was able to dramatically reduce help desk wait times. After the trial, all campuses were to be fitted with scanner devices at help desks.
